DS Symposium
Doctoral Symposium is a one-day event, organized by our community, providing Ph.D. students a great opportunity to interact with their colleagues working on research in System Engineering and Computer Science domains. The goals of the symposium are to provide the participants with constructive feedback on their current research and future research directions, to develop a supportive community of scholars, and a spirit of collaborative research. We also wish to create an opportunity for Ph.D. student participants to interact with established researchers and practitioners (professors, invited persons).
All Ph.D. students should consider participating in the Doctoral Symposium. There are two submission categories:
- Position paper submissions. These are aimed at students in the first years of their Ph.D., that have no publications that are core to their Ph.D. and that are looking for early feedback on how to continue their Ph.D. Accepted submissions will appear as a one-page summary in the Doctoral Symposium Book of Abstracts.
- Results announcement submissions. These are aimed at students that are in the second part of their Ph.D. and that have preliminary results that they wish to present at the symposium. Accepted submissions will appear as two-page summaries in the Doctoral Symposium Book of Abstracts.
The authors of both types of submissions will be invited to submit, after the symposium, their extended work for publication in different special issues organizes in international journals. The special issues proposed for this year’s edition of the Doctoral Symposium will be organised in the following journals:
- Connection Sciences (Q2)
- Future Generation Computer Systems (Q1)
- Mathematics (Q1)
- Pattern Recognition Letters (Q2)
- Senors (Q1)
The following journal indexed in Web of Science by ISI Clarivate are recommend:
- Journal of Control Engineering and Applied Informatics
- Studies in Informatics and Control
- UPB Scientific Bulletin
