Ph.D. students and theses defended

At the end of the year 2016 a number of 184 Romanian Ph.D. students and 13 foreign Ph.D. students were registered in the doctorate study programs “System Engineering” (SE) and “Computers and Information Technology” (CIT) which are organized in the Doctoral school of Automatic Control and Computers (SD_AC). From this total, 78 Ph.D. students work out theses in the SE domain, and 119 Ph.D. students in the CIT domain.

Since the founding of the SD_AC there have been publicly defended 137 theses by Romanian Ph.D. students and 10 theses by foreign students during 2012-2016. From the total of 147 defended these, 78 were in the SE domain and 69 in the CIT domain. 9 doctoral these have been realized in double coordination with scientific directors from foreign universities.

All the 147 theses publicly defended in this period have been validated by the CNATDCU specialty commission granting doctor titles at national level in the SE and CIT domains; thus the percentage of obtaining the doctor title after public defence was 100%. For both SE and CIT domains all Ph.D. titles were granted by the CNATDCU commission without any delay or request to extend the theses.

In the 2012-2016 period of time, members of the SD_AC have participated in 16 boards of public Ph.D. thesis defence at foreign universities, as presidents or examiners. From these participations, 7 were in the SE domain, and 9 in the CIT domain.
