Ph.D. students and theses defended

At the end of the year 2019 there were registered in the doctorate study programs ”System Engineering” (SE) and ”Computers and Information Technology” (CIT), organized in the Doctoral school of Automatic Control and Computers (SD_AC), 265 Romanian and 16 foreign Ph.D. students. From this total, 111 Ph.D. students work out theses in the SE domain, and 170 Ph.D. students in the CIT domain.

Since the founding in 2012 of the SD_AC there have been publicly defended 186 theses by Romanian Ph.D. students and 19 theses by foreign students during 2012-2018. From the total of 205 defended theses, 94 were in the SE domain and 111 in the CIT domain. There have been realized 13 doctoral these in double coordination with scientific directors from foreign universities.

All the Ph.D. theses publicly defended in this period have been validated by the CNATDCU specialty commission no. 15 granting doctor titles at national level in the SE and CIT domains; thus the percentage of obtaining the doctor title after public defence was 100%. For both SE and CIT domains all Ph.D. titles were granted by the CNATDCU commission without any delay or request to extend the theses.

In the time period 2012-2019, members of the SD_AC have participated in 32 boards of public Ph.D. thesis defence at foreign universities, as presidents or examiners. From these participations, 17 were in the SE domain and 15 in the CIT domain.
