SD_AC Meetings and Elections

SD_AC Director and Council elections for 2016-2020

The elections of the Doctoral school Automatic Control and Computers management (SD_AC Director and Council) took place in
April 2016, being organised according to the Bylaw concerning the organization of elections in the Doctoral schools of
the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest (UPB), which was validated by UPB’s Senate in January 2016. This Bylaw defines
the way in which the elections for the Doctoral school’s director and council in the 2016-2020 mandates should be organized
and held in the university.

The elections meeting of the SD_AC’s Director and Council for 2016-2020 has been prepared in the Meeting of SD_AC Council
from 1.04. 2016. The Ph.D. students currently performing their doctoral stage have been invited in a meeting on 4.04.2016
to designate their representatives in the new Council of the Doctoral school for the period 2016-2020. The members of
the Doctoral school have been invited to participate in the SD_AC Elections meeting for the 2016-2020 mandates of the
Doctoral school’s Director and Council through e-mail messages and an announcement posted in the website of the faculty
of Automatic Control and Computers, UPB.

The SD_AC Elections meeting for the 2016-2020 mandates of the Doctoral school’s Director and Council took place in 14.04.2016.
During this meeting an activity report of the SD_AC for the period 2012-2016 was presented. There was a single candidate
for the position of director of the doctoral school Automatic Control and Computers – Professor Theodor Borangiu, who
presented to the audience his Plan of SD_AC development. The members of the Doctoral school who attended this meeting
have designated by direct, secret and equal vote the SD_AC Council:

  • Members: Dan Popescu, Dan Stefanoiu, Florica Moldoveanu (scientific Ph.D. coordinators), Cristian Chilipirea, Dragos Popescu (Ph.D. students), Radu Emil Precup (invited professor);;
  • Honour members: Traian Muntean (University Aix-Marseille, France), Damien Trentesaux (University Valenciennes, France), Pierre Borne (University Lille), Valentin Vlad (Romanian Academy),

and the Director of the Doctoral school, Theodor Borangiu, whom they recommended for the university’s Council for Doctorate (CSUD); this nomination was validated by the Senate of the University Politehnica of Bucharest.

SD_AC meetings in 2019

Meeting of SD_AC general assembly from January 23, 2019: the main scope of the meeting was to discuss and validate by the members’ vote the new own Bylaw of the Doctoral school Automatic Control and Computers, updated to cope with the new 2018 Bylaw concerning the organization and realization of doctoral study programs in the University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB)

Meeting of SD_AC Council from February 18, 2019: the scope of the meeting was to analyze the scientific activity of the scientific directors and the study and individual research programs of the Ph.D. students in 2018, and to propose measures to improve the activities in the SE and CIT doctoral programs of SD_AC.

Meeting of SD_AC Council from April 25, 2019: the purpose of the meeting was the preparation of the July and September 2019 admission sessions for studies in the SE and CIT doctoral programs.
